I came across this in while speaking to a group in CO. You do not need a referral for PT in CO. Anyone think this falls within the scope of practicing medicine? I guess it could be argued its accupuncture.

My understanding has been that skin penetration needs to be done either by a doctor, under the supervision of a doctor, or on the order of a doctor (MD/DO). I wouold call this a scope of practice issue.

Apparently, this is a bone of contention with the acupuncturists as well.
