Hello all,

I'm trying to get my finances in order so that everything goes smoothly before starting school in the summer. As I'm filling out the FAFSA for federal aid it says since I am an independent I am not required to submit my parents' information

"However, you may want to answer questions about your parents if:
  • you are a law school or health profession student (such as a medical or nursing student)."
I am not sure if I should fill this section out or not, do any current students or prospective students have any thoughts?

I didn't fill it out, mostly because I didn't want my parent's information associated with my loans, and I was granted the max amount of loans. I'm not sure what that section is used for. Maybe need-based grants from schools? I've never heard of PT schools offering those, though.

Can I start filling fafsa out before I know what school im going to?
