Hi all, I'm currently applying to Physical Therapy school. I was wondering if any PT's or PT students wouldn't mind looking at my academic profile and giving me feedback on where I stand on my chances of getting in. Thanks A lot!

University: Towson University
Major: Exercise Science
GPA: 3.75
Science GPA: 3.55
GRE: 800 (I'm a terrible standardized test taker! I'm really worried how much this score will weigh in me getting into school!)
Observation Hours: 3,000+ hours of outpatient experience (including: orthopedics, rheumatology, geriatrics, pediatrics, sports medicine) 30 hours of inpatient experience (including: pulmonary/Infectious Disease Unit and Neuro-Rehab/Traumatic Brain Injury Unit)
Applying To: Army Baylor, Old Dominion, University of Maryland, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Old Dominion, Shenandoah U, St. Augustine, University of Miami

You might need to re-take the GRE, but other than that, your GPA and experience looks pretty good. Bring the GREs up to 1000s then you're good.

I know for sure that your GRE wont get you into baylor, I apply to that program and baylor GRE min is 1000 with at lease a 450 in the Verbal. I took it twice already and still didn't receive the min. So as of right now I am giving up in getting into baylor.

The GRE score is used by schools mostly as a minimum requirement. As long as you get the minimum score, it doesn't matter how you do (unless you get a homerun). Study some GRE books, retake it; if you aren't satisfied then, you might need to take a class.

Good luck.

I got into Univ of St. Augustine with 860 GRE when they're "minimum requirement" is 1000. They did have me retake it (i still only got 920), but did not say that I needed to reach the minimum score to make my acceptance official... they just wanted me to try again. I think they really understand that some of us just aren't good test takers, and when GPA and everything else looks great they won't count it against you.

... so I'm not sure about your other schools, but for st. augustine you're probably good!

Thanks a lot Kurtin2Kiter! 🙂 That makes me feel a lot better. I plan to retake the stupid GRE at the end of the Month and hope I get a better score so I don't have to risk it. Are you at St. Augustine now? If so what was the interview like and how do you like the school?
