Does anyone know of any PT schools that offer any sort of financial scholarships for qualified applicants?

Does this affect your decision to apply to certain schools or PT school in general? The amount of money in scholarships that you could get/apply for would only be a small percentage (and a bit of help of course) of the full tuition and living expense cost for your time during the program (even the cheapest). The program that I'm starting in 2 days offered me two scholarships that I didn't apply for. On the program's website, it stated that there are scholarships available/offered to applicants that come from "disadvantaged backgrounds." Although it's a bit of help, it may just cover my rent for 1 semester a year. I still had to apply for loans. It's just an inevitable thing to do, applying for loans.

No, I'm applying either way. I'm just asking because I'm debating whether or not to really give 110% for GRE preparation...really burnt out of studying..Thanks for your help, and congrats on your acceptance

If you dont mind me asking, was the monetary help you received merit-based?

Thanks! Well, I received two and I assume one was merit-based and the other was need-based. I'm a first gen high school/undergrad graduate with a hispanic and Spanish speaking background, but I also had a 4.0, decent GRE score, a large amount of experience and 5 strong letters of reference. I even had an opportunity to get another scholarship that we found out about when we got accepted, but this one was based on community/organizational involvement and unfortunately I was less qualified than the others who received it.

Drexel offers decent scholarships to offset the costs of attending. Widener also offers some scholarships as well. Pennsylvania unfortunately only has one affordable DPT program and the rest all cost about the same.
