How would you categorize these settings? All were done with a licensed physical therapist.
1. Discussing the importance of exercise and teaching exercises to a group of about 30 people diagnosed with diabetes. It was a free event financed by a hospital. They called it their "Diabetic Clinic".
2. In-service training to nurses working in sub-acute. We explained to the nurses the proper mechanics of turning, sitting, transferring, walking, and dressing patients. It was part of the nurses continuing education.
I'm guessing the first one is Wellness/Prevention/Fitness and the second one is Industrial/Occupational Health or maybe School/Pre-school. The PTCAS definitions are below.
Wellness/Prevention/Fitness
Physical therapy services are provided to individuals with a focus on wellness. This approach to healthcare emphasizes preventing illness and injury and promoting healthy lifestyle, as opposed to emphasizing treatment of diseases.
Industrial/Occupational Health
Physical therapy services are provided to individuals primarily to help them return to work or for the purpose of enhancing employee health, improving safety, and increasing productivity in the workplace.
School/Pre-school
Physical therapy services are provided within an educational environment, including pre-school, elementary, or secondary education (high school and vocational) facilities.
