Is it a bad idea if I mention in my essay that I didn't enjoy my PT treatment I received. The clinic that I went to was horrible and it seemed as if the PT was there for the money, my evaluation with her lasted less than 5 minutes and she sent me into a room where an aide used heat on me for 10 minutes. She took no time to talk to me or understand what was wrong and she just gave me a paper with exercises and told me to go home and do them-- that was it. So I was wondering if I should mention that I had a bad experience and in return, I want to be a better therapist in the future, or would it be a bad idea because it may seem like I come off as underappreciating others or disrespectful.

Hi, I have the similar experience. My grandma had a hip replacement, the therapist in the nursing home she stayed was kind of disrespect and lack of communication as well. She was forced to do therapy on the day she doesn’t feel like it. I am wondering if I should write that as well.

Ideally, the essay should highlight you as an applicant in a way that shows why you will make a good PT student and future PT. If you can use this story to show why you will make a good PT, then go for it, but if you're worried about it, think of something else to write about. You don't have to write about PT, and in fact, I usually recommend not writing about PT so that you stand out as an applicant.

I do not see anything wrong about mentioning that in your essay. It is a good reasoning and motivation for taking the best care for each patient.

Totally use it! My essay was about a bad experience with a physician. I explained how I felt mistreated as a patient, what places I felt they lacked in patient care (not listening, impersonable, abrasive, etc), and how that influenced how I wanted to be as a provider,
