PTCB exam vs. ExCPT

Does anyone have any idea which test is better? The PTCB costs more and results take weeks to get back. The ExCPT is cheaper and you get your results minutes after finishing the test. For me the PTCB would be available in my city, I'd have to drive at least an hour to get to the ExCPT. I'm leaning more towards the ExCPT because of cost and how fast the results are given, but are they really equal tests? Both are nationally certified tests right?

Oh and also, the study guide I have is specifically for the ExCPT. I got it from the pharmacy I work at, they got a new manual in and instead of tossing it out my manager gave me the older copy. It's for 2007, so shouldn't be any different really. If I study using this manual should I just go ahead and take the ExCPT? I'm not sure if the tests have drastically different content or not.

Wow, I didn't even know about this test. I just took the PTCB my results should be back on the 3rd of october and I'm afraid I didn't pass 🙁. ExCPT is even offered in my city! and we drove for over an hour to the PTCB! wow I had no idea! Does anyone know more about it??

hmm...i didn't know about this exam either. to obtain your pharmacy license, you need to take the PTCB....

I believe both exams are nationally acredited information on the ExCPT exam is at www.nationaltechexam.org. I think this exam is a better choice because its on-demand. I think the ExCPT is cheaper, by $34, given in more testing sites nationwide at lasergrade testing centers, and results are right away. Which is great because in my state you must pass the certfication exam to be a technician and i get a raise. I dont have to wait like PTCB.
