PT's: become an osteopractor

This must be just fine in the eyes of chiropractors, after all they are physiotherapists.

Yeah, this got pushed to my email last night, as I have taken two of Dr. Dunning's courses previously. I'm not really sure what he's doing with this, but part of me wonders if it isn't at least in a small part to get under chiros' collective skin, as they have attempted to have his licensed censored due to practicing manipulation on a few occasions.

jesspt, how are his classes anyway? I know one of the locations is in Scottsdale, AZ where I live.

He's a very straight forward and no-nonsense instructor who presents the relevant evidence regarding the use of thrust manipulation for musculoskeletal pain. Most of the class is spent in laboratory. I use most of the techniques he teaches when I use thrust.

Osteopractor? Osteopractic? It sure sounds like he's trying to latch on to chiropractors and chiropractic, or more specifically to the public's association with chiropractors and their expertise in SMT.

And I guess the very existence of these seminars is evidence that those crazy chiropractors have been on to something for the last 100+ years.😉

And I guess the very existence of these seminars is evidence that those crazy chiropractors have been on to something for the last 100+ years.😉 He actually uses some chiro literature to support his interventions, but does also spend a lot of time debunking the whole straight chiro, palpatory positional diagnosis, maintenance manipulation for spinal health bit...

Overall, I have enjoyed both classes.

Ok guys I will be honest right out of the box. I am a DC and have no issue with Dr. Dunning's teachings. My profession has tempted fate for decades now and it looks as if this is going to be the mechanism that the medical profession will use to claim our methods. It is what it is and if anyone is to blame it is the Chiropractic profession itself. I have only seen a few of the videos and there will be many things to come for the understanding of an osteopractor, but as it took us a 100+ years to learn about biomechanics it will come much quicker for this profession by simply looking for and uncovering the research and weeding out the some of the fluff. Good luck guys!! you can help a lot of people with this stuff!!
