I am interested in applying to Pacific university. I went on their website and requested information and in the packet they sent me was a course check list for them to evaluate. They also wanted me to send an unofficial transcript. My problem is this. I have about 10 withdrawls on my transcript because my father had passed away and I had a long court battle with his gold digging widow. This affected me in school. I withdrew from physics twice because I had a hard time but I plan to take a trig course and take physics at a community college. My GPA is about a 3.5. I plan to get a BS in Biology by the time I apply. I work at a pharmacy and volunteer at a hospital once a week. So, I have two questions. When I send this stuff to PU, should I explain this stuff to them? Do I even have a chance at any pharmacy school? Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Are you talking about the info packet from Pacific U? I think I got that too. Those course evaluations are usually used for do just that : to evaluate the courses you have taken/plan to take before you actually apply. It's a tool to confirm that the courses you have taken will be accepted as prereq's into their program. If what you're looking at is not the actual application, then it's not as if they're going to eliminate you from the application pool or anything at this moment-- they'll probably tell you if you are eligible (and a 3.5 gpa is competitive at Pac U.) and maybe give you feedback too.

They have a great committee there, so if anything call them for any specific questions. As for all your withdrawls, etc, you can explain all of that in your essays when you actually apply. You should also read up on the Pacific U thread that's been going on here on SDN-- it's a great thread with lots of info on it. From what I've read, they look for well-rounded applicants who are mature and your life experiences will definitely help! Considering that you have so much going on yet you can still maintain a competitive gpa is impressive. You have a good chance, don't give up yet!

Thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate it.🙂
