Hey folks,

I'm going to start my MPH at Yale with a global health concentration. My plan after graduation is to find a job that gives me opportunities to travel around the world from time to time to work. I think my specialization in global health is a suitable match to reach my goal.

My question is, what type of job (position title) or companies should I look for that would require me to travel around?

Thanks!

Health Care Consulting. You get to travel a lot but its a very competitive field.

Take a look at John Snow, Inc. They do lots of international work and the folks I've talked to there are awfully nice.

In terms of job titles, "Technical Advisor" might be a good match. You might also take at look at "Public Health Analyst" and "Public Health Advisor" positions. Try "Program Manager," too.

I assume you're already planning to get some experience in global health work, or you already have some experience... if not, use your time at grad school to get some, it will really help you land that first job.

Good luck, and have fun with your studies!

Thanks for the great replies guys!

Correct me if I'm wrong but is it true that even the entry-level WHO jobs require a few years' of experience? If I just got my MPH, what is my chance of getting in?

I also forgot to mention that I'm not a U.S citizen/permanent resident. I'm a local from Hong Kong, China. Will I still be eligible to apply to those organizations?

Lastly, in the public health field, what are some of the private global health companies, if there are any?

I apologize if the questions sound trivial to you...Career-wise, I'm so new to the field
