Hey Y'all

I may have the opportunity to be involved in some public health research centered around the clinic I work for and directed through my university's college of public health. I'm interested in what they might accomplish though this research, but I was wondering if it would qualify to fill my research "check box" as I am unsure whether or not I will ever get the chance or have the time to work in a lab. Thanks for the input!

If it is a hypothesis driven, systematic investigation to develop new knowledge, then yes, that's research. If it is exploratory rather than hypothesis driven, you are on less solid ground but can still make an argument that it is research. You list it on your AMCAS with the tag "research" and you're good.

All of my research has been in public health and at most of my interviews they've asked me about it. It seemed to have satisfied them. Good luck with your research!
