Do dental schools judge you a lot upon what University you got your bachelor from?
Will they rather take a student that graduated from a big public school than a student who graduated from a small private school?
Do they look at the schools reputation?

thanks in advance

Anecdotal evidence show that your undergrad institute (or your major) doesn't have as much impact as the GPA earned.

IMO, a 3.7 History major GPA from a bunker hill state college looks better than a 3.0 from MIT in Quantum mechanics.

Don't worry about it too much. Just go where you will enjoy.

No. No one cares who went to what school. Remember those tool bags in undergrad who would still wear their highschool letter jacket? Well, it is the same when people brag about their undergrad while in professional school - especially when said school is the old rival of your undergrad (example: Purdue alumni who go to Indiana University School of Dentistry)

Generally everyone is right, no one cares where you went to school when you apply. But if you're in high school and trying to decide on college, keep a few things in mind.

1. Community college is always looked down on more then a 4 year university. It's pretty obvious, but some people seem to think they can complete their community college education and apply to dental school.

2. Some small private schools don't offer strong science departments. This is important if you want to take upper level science and the school only has the basic biology and chemistry.

3. Cost. Small public universities tend to cost alot more then their public counterparts. Try to minimize debt and just go to the school that has a decent reputation with the cheapest price. You don't want to enter dental school with a ton of debt from your undergrad years.
