hello,
I am trying to publish an article and have been told
It will be accepted when submitted.

Unfortunately, I don't think the article will be in press by the
Time I start interviews..

Any advice? Send a letter updating them after the interview?

I would do that, but think the decision on my applicationigjt be made
By the time my letter arrives.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I would never count on an article being published until I get the in press letter.

I believe sending a letter post-interview, to express interest, update them on a major event (e.g. publication), etc., is common.

As long as the rank list isn't finalized yet I can't see how "the decision on your application" would already be set in stone. Who knows - it might move you up on their ROL or not move you at all. What do you have to lose?
