How long ago was it accepted? The name nature implies higher IF so I wouldn't worry about that. I think its fine but just don't send an update if it wasn't actually accepted yet and only submitted. Also make sure schools allow for updates and add it to new secondaries you receive

Published just yesterday. Is this something that the top tier schools consider more than the schools with less research emphasis?

Yes. Update them. Schools, even the top tier, won't care about the impact factor. They're more interested in your role in the research and what you gained from it.

is getting published in a journal matters a lot??and what about the quality of the journal??for example, an online journal or those with low readership can be considered as potential places to get your article published??

seems legit

I can't imagine an medical adcom member that has not heard of Nature or its daughter journals. They may not know impact factors but they will recognize it is a high-profile journal from the name.

Will it make the difference for your application? Not likely. If you do want to make it a big deal, you can emphasize it in secondaries/interviews. As @aldol16 said, its impact on your candidacy will depend on the role you played in the research and what you demonstrably learned. But in any case, be prepared to defend the science and logic of the paper, even that for which you were not "responsible."

Nature yes, but medical adcom members likely do not know the subsidiary journals of Nature. They will recognize the Nature name on it but they likely won't be familiar with journal itself or how "high profile" it is within the field. They're more likely to just assume that it's higher impact simply because it comes from Nature. For example, in the field of chemistry, journals like JACS or Angewandte are quite well regarded whereas Nature Communications is not, despite its impact factor. But adcoms would see the Nature name with Nature Communications and may draw certain conclusions just from that.

Yes, absolutely update schools on this publication. It can be a very short straightforward email with a few sentences introducing it and then the full formal citation of the paper (in press if you don't have the pages yet).

They'll likely know that Nature subdivisions in major bio categories (like cell bio, or neuro, or immuno) are usually among the biggest handful of journals for the subject.

Yes this is especially attractive to famous research powerhouses, if you have the GPA and MCAT to back it up, you can expect a bunch of top 10-20 interview invites.
