Hey I was wondering if it would be worth it to update schools on submitted publications that are pending publication? I have no MD II's but I have a few publications I recently submitted, which I am waiting to hear back on acceptance into the journal, and I was wondering if this is worthy of an update or if I should wait until they are accepted? Thanks!

I can submit my shopping list to Nature on a brown paper bag written in crayon and it still is considered "submitted for publication".

Therefore, don't bother updating until you have the acceptance email from the editor.

Also make sure the schools you wish to notify actually take updates. Wake, for one, doesn't.

Wait until they are accepted and you can prove it. You may need to submit to multiple journal before you get a taker.
