if an abstract is published in an online supplement to a reputable peer-reviewed journal (available online, but no doi)...is this a publication or poster/presentation?

If it's in PubMed, I consider it a publication.

Confused. Abstracts of some conferences are listed on PubMed but they aren't peer reviewed in its entirety to be listed as a publication. Abstracts to me look like just poster/presentations at conferences, while publications are peer reviewed journal articles.

No, not all abstracts are peer reviewed.
