Published vs Non Published

Hi,

My research has shown up on on pub med as "e-pub" ahead of print. So technically I have a PMID but I dont have the journal details yet (like volume, page numbers, etc.).

My question is, how do I go about putting this on ERAS? Is my work technically published now or is it in-press?

Just put it as in-press with the journal name.

Been awhile since I applied, so I don't know what ERAS lets you put in. Certainly in press is the right designation. If you can then free-text a reference, do it in this format:

Author name #1, name #2, etc. Title. Accepted, in press. Available online DD Month YY. Journal name. PubMed ID #######.

If anyone wants to go look it up, at least this way they know it is viewable. Anyone with two neurons to rub together will be able to find it with a Pubmed ID. People lie all the time about their publications in ERAS, so it's nice to actually be able to find articles if interested.

If your only options are published vs non-published, consider it published. If you are free to categorize it as you wish, I agree with "in press."

If you can log on to pubmed and get a pdf of your paper, it is published. Plenty of specialty journals these days epub their paper months before it goes into print. I've been interviewed by Reuters for papers that are epub'd. It counts.
