Just some food for thought: Are the EM programs in PR accepting entering classes for 2018? I'm just kind of wondering if the strain from Maria has caused a cessation in non-essential clinical operations. I imagine it would be difficult for these programs to recruit residents to the island in general given the absence of power, but just wondering if there has been a complete shut-down of residency training and/or incoming residents for training given how thinly spread the island is for resources now.

My neighbor is from there and has family there. She still can't call them because the cell towers are down and significant portions of the island have no power. I would imagine that getting the hospitals back on line would be a priority but have no other specific information about the situation there.

There may be some advantages to living and working there.
