hi guys,

i know this is a little early but just wanted to begin. i am an IMG at a decent Community/ quasi- university program, PGY2. critical care is my plan A2- gave up on plan A1 (cards). need to apply this yr as i am on H1. my program does have almost all fellowships and there are 2 spots every yr for critical care- unsure that they are expanding to 4 from next yr..new program but greatly educational and clinically strong so quite competitive. n the bad news for me is that 3 other people in PGY3 are applying, 2 are future chiefs... one of whom needs to stay in the area. me myself, ... my wife is applying this yr too, to diff specialty so we need to be together. i am already in a scary situation, esp that i dont have research and i am on a visa....PD thinks i should apply this yr. what should i do? is there a couple's match in fellowships too?

Hi everyone,
I thought it was tme we kick started the 2008 PCCM Match process. It would be nice if ppl started sharing where they have reached vis a vis preparing their applications. I will begin by saying I have my CV in place. Yet to make my PS. Would be glad if someone gave pointers about how to prepare one for fellowship. How important are step scores? How important is your visa status?
Waiting to hear from everyone! Past years' applicants' advice keenly awaited too 🙂

How many places will a typical applicant apply to? Im not sure how many I need to apply to. Any help is appreciated. thanks.
