So is Vandy done? Are they gonna offer anymore interviews? I really really wanted an interview from them. This process is so stressful haha

Does anyone know which places will be doing in person interviews? Aside from Vanderbilt

Why are all the interviews on Friday? Anyone get a non-Friday interview yet?

Is it possible to get an interview invite from Thalamus and NOT through myeras? I had 2 different emails for them. I havent gotten sn interview yet but maybe I have and it was only sent to my thalamus email which i checked and was an inactive email from med school that I cant get access to now

Mind sharing how many interview you have so far? Some of us have zero and it may be good to know where we stand.

Still at zero here as well with what I thought to be a strong app haha this is a very humbling experience
Haha. I thought I was strong too but never mind. Very nervous now. Just added 30 more programs today

I actually applied last year. At this time last year I had 5 interviews, this year only 1. Even though my application is significantly better imo. Maybe theyre just being more selective this year? I am not sure. It is very humbling and stressful. Losing hope honestly.

Have a lot of the schools you applied to given out interviews already? I would take that into account

I applied to 42 programs. Only 8 have sent initial invites not sure if thats a lot or not and 2 of those 8 have sent a subsequent round and 1 i was rejected (Duke)

I also think most programs dont just send one round from what I imagine. There are a lot of apps to go through but dang A/I seems crazy competitive these days. My friends applying cards and GI have interviews already with imo pretty avg stats (below avg research avg to slightly above avg step scores from avg IM programs)

8 of the 37 I initially applied gave out interviews and nothing on my end. Bad feeling about that.

This is very helpful. May sleep better tonight because of this. Haha. Thanks

I was wondering if I should add more programs; I just don't know if they'd review my application at this point and it's pricy...

Hmm I can't imagine any program doing that but I don't know for sure

Ok im starting to think theres something wrong with my app? Stanford sent 137 phone interviews to every applicant and I didnt receive one. I applied there

Im sitting at 5 right now; Keep in mind that I did apply to almost every single program though. My 2 buddies that matched allergy last season didn't get their first one until August (one of them midway) and are now doing just fine. I think next week will prob be a big one for interviews. Good luck to everyone.

It's surprisingly quiet for August 1st, thought we'd hear from some new places today

Upcoming applicant, anyone concerned at all about job market for non-city locations? For example less populated portions of the northeast or midwest? Would appreciate any insight if anyone has info about job market for areas such as those.

There are so many jobs for non-city locations, especially the Midwest and northeast. Especially for private practice. It’s pretty saturated in metropolitan areas. There are lots of jobs through private equity in big cities, but not a lot of postings for private practice with partnership.

Integro HealthCare is a great website to see private practice opportunities for allergy. Doccafe and practicelink have some too but those are mostly PE

I think I’m cooked. I had way more interviews at this time last year.
Remain optimistic and keep up the faith. Many people are noting it is a bit of a slower year this time round. You can only do one fellowship at a time, so you only need one that's a good fit. Good luck.
