I know this question is absurdly simple, but FA doesn't mention it, so I just want a definitive answer.

Would the Tx for pulmonary embolism just be heparin and a thrombolytic?

Thanks,

I should also throw in (ran into this about 30 seconds ago): USMLE Rx has stated that MycoPLASMA require acid-fast staining. I've never heard of that before, so I'm guessing they meant Mycobacterium.

yes I believe so...don't forget oxygen, and interventional procedures for severe cases

Mycoplasma doesn't have a cell wall... that must be a mistake.

Tx for PE for most cases would be anticoagulants. If the patient is hemodynamiclly unstable, then you would use thrombolytics. If there are contraindications, a vena caval filter can also be placed.

In extremely rare cases thrombectomy may be required.
