I was wondering:
For all intensive purposes in a cost/benefit analysis, when applying to medical school...would it be more worthwhile pursuing an MPH or doing research at a top-ranked department at medical school (in a specialty in which you plan on pursuing down the road) ? Which would benefit your application more? I realize the MPH is a guaranteed master's degree while the year of research may or may not lead to a tangible end product (publication/poster) let alone by the time of winter when you have interviews to bring it up to adcoms.
Thanks.
