Depends on your school. UAMS requires us to have taken (not necessarily passed) Step 1 for the first time by July 31 of the year we start rotations, but I am aware of at least 2 schools that only require you to have passed by the time you graduate.

School dependant. We have to pass before we start 3rd year. So we need enough time for our scores to come back.
