Just got back from taking the step I---thank God that is over!! I don't really have much to add to everyone else's critiques of the test, actually I think I've blocked most of it out already. I had a good mix of all the different subjects, although I would have liked to have more path. As others have said, I had some crazy hard questions. But there were others that were ridiculously easy...so don't worry too much about that--there weren't that many of them, and even if I had studied certain subjects a lot more I still wouldn't have felt great about some of those questions. Since I don't remember much from the test I will just give some general advice.
1. DO NOT be the first one to get to the testing center. They assign the stations numerically, and the first guy that got there had to sit in the crap spot right by the door where people were coming in and out. I got there about 8:20 and ended up with a great spot in the back corner.
2. Prepare for the not-so-ideal climate control situation. In the AM when I was in there, it was comfortable enough to wear a long sleeved T-shirt. By mid afternoon it was freakin' hot and I was stripped down practically to my undies (FYI I was wearing a camisole so I was not too indecent).
3. TAKE YOUR BREAKS! Even if you just go splash your face off in the bathroom.
4. Caffeine=a good thing. I had several mountain dews I sipped on between blocks.
5. Do not worry about having to sit there for 8 hours, the time flies by I promise.
OK that is all I can think of for now. I feel OK about the test. I had a mini panic attack towards the end of the 6th block, so I had to leave after that block, and take a break & do some deep breathing. And I think I still have a little bit of Post-test traumatic stress disorder b/c I was jumping at every little thing for a good 30 minutes after the test. Not to mention I almost got rear ended by some pimped out car on my way home.
I did change several answers, but I think I had solid reasoning for most of the changes. The others I changed I didn't know what the hell the question was talking about so it really didn't matter either way.
Well, I'm off to get tipsy...thanks for all of the support everyone. I'll continue to look at the boards & help anyone out who needs some support.
