Puzzled about low # of interviews

So, I think I am a pretty attractive applicant. Step I 246; Step II 249. Good grades, top half of class, not AOA, research but no pubs. I am currently in an IM program and looking to switch; willing to repeat intern year.

Applying to 8 programs close to home; some are "competitive" and others are "less competitive" and one seems like they take what they can get. I have invites from 4/8. But, I have not gotten invites from 2 of the more "competitive" ones and 2 of the not so competitive ones including the one that seems to take what they can get.

Do you think its because I am already in an IM program? My ERAS went out about 7-10 days after the 1st of Sept so maybe its just in line for an invite?

I think unless your application was somehow misplaced, you'll get more interviews. You've got great stats. Call them, just in case.
