are most pathologists in private practice or work at a hospital? which is better? what is the salary difference for cyto-path,heme-path,derm-path,etc in private practice vs hospital setting?

Private practice is hospital setting for pathologists. Just like radiologist we have our offices and work in the hospital.

There are some places where pathologists are hospital employees instead of private practice contractors. Generally the hospital employees get paid less.
