Sattar explained this in his lecture, but I still don't get this. Can anyone please enlighten me?

Thrombotic stroke --> pale infarct

Embolic stroke --> hemorrhagic infarct (I guess I can call this red infarct.)

So why thrombotic is pale whereas embolic is hemorrhagic?

Thrombotic Eg. Atherosclerosis if ruptured it will reform worsening ischemia and infarction . No reperfusion injury , because no restoration of blood flow in to infarcted area.

Embolic Eg. moving clot most commonly from left heart into cranial blood vessels.if ruptured it will not reform and lead to reperfusion injury because restoration of blood flow into infarcted area.
