I take step 1 in two days and am somewhat worried. I've heard people say that the 150 question set is easier than the real test. My question is, how much easier is it? That is, I've gotten 80% on it...do I have anything to worry about when it comes to simply passing the real thing? Input would be appreciated.

thanks

80% is a good score for most purposes. I don't think anyone's found a correlation between their step performance and their score on the 150 Q's, but at least a 80% is probably fine.

Personally, I felt the 150 were easier than the real thing because they were very, very direct. Not a whole lot of "multiple step" questions where they basically make you take one set of symptoms and think beyond the diagnosis to something else. Not too much thinking involved at all, really, compared to other sources.

I felt the NBME assessments at the nbme website were much more useful in preparation than the 150 questions. The questions are more difficult and broader (which is more like the actual step)
