Q for Vets, cat problems

I am currently unable to take my 2 year old kitty to a vet right now, the one in town is a ***** and she hates him anyway. So I'd like your insight to what may be going on with her.

I've noticed some bright red blood on / sometimes swirlled into her stools. She frequently poops outside the litter box, so I'm able to see the blood quite clearly. I had one of her stools run by my vet and the lab report came back normal. The blood in the stool is not everytime, but it's with some frequency. Her demenor has not changed, she hasn't gotten into anything that I know of and she hasn't had any stressful situations lately.

Please if you could, let me know some possible causes of this bleeding and it's urgency I would greatly appreciate it!!

Seriously, you need to get your cat to a vet. Blood in the feces could be a symptom of a serious problem, especially if it is, as you say, occuring frequently. There are a TON of possible causes - bacterial or viral disease, cancers of the colon/rectum/anus, coagulopathies, intussesception, etc etc. There needs to be a physical exam and probably lots of other diagnostic tests to figure out exactly what is going on so that the treatment is specific to the cause. There's no way we can help you over the internet. If you don't like that one vet, find another.

P.S. The cat is probably gonna hate the vet either way..

It's simply illegal to give an opinion about what's going on with your cat without having done a physical exam on it. There's no "client-patient-relationship" without an exam.

Please take your cat to a vet. Even if you must drive to another town.

How offended would you be if we came onto the board for your residency specialty and asked you to make a diagnosis on your specialty with no exam? COME ON!!!
