1. when does 2nd yr end?
2. is it true u dont have to pass step1 to begin 3rd yr?
3. when do students then usually take step1?
4. when does 3rd yr start?
5. I heard every1 is completely free to do whatever rotation they feel like in any order, so for example all 120 students may be rotating in IM at the same time.. is this true? can some1 tell me how the 3rd & 4th years are structured in detail? (the more detailed the better)
6. is there junior/senior AOA at hopkins?

Late May (23rd I think?)

Yes. You dont have to take the USMLEs to graduate or to pass on to the 3rd year

3. when do students then usually take step1?

Same time everybody else does... summer after 2nd year

4. when does 3rd yr start?

Not sure

Yes, but I think they cap enrollments so that not all 120 students can do the same rotation at the same time.

I think its pretty much like all other med schools

6. is there junior/senior AOA at hopkins?

yes

Oops you are right.

I just looked at the master schedule, and the last day for 2nd year is March 19th.

sounds good to me

Spring break.

You don't even have to take it to graduate.

3. when do students then usually take step1?
August is a popular month, but more and more people are taking it later in third year. Scores are better after a few key rotations.

4. when does 3rd yr start?
April 1.

Yes and no. We're free to take rotations in any order we want. You can start with electives, or mix and match electives with your required clerkships (medicine, surgery, ob/gyn, psych/neuro/ophtho, peds, ambulatory med, e-med). Typically, no more than 24 students are allowed to take a given rotation at the same time. Early on, you'll submit your schedule preferences, and for the most part, the registrar gives you what you want. You are free to sign up for any of hundreds of electives at any time, and are encouraged to take sub-internships in fields that interest you. The schedule has a tremendous amount of flexibility, which is very helpful for ascertaining your career goals.

Since we start 3rd year early, most of us are done with med school by fall of 4th year. There's plenty of time for electives, vacation, taking the USMLE, and going to residency interviews.

There is an AOA chapter, BUT no one is inducted until graduation. So, residencies can not use this as a factor when they consider your application. No one is inducted during third year.

Hope this helps.
