The etiologies are different.....secondary hypoparathyroidism (usually due to chronic renal disease) has decreased CA, increased phosphorous, and INCREASED PTH due to hypocalcemia. Pseudohypoparathyroidism, is an X-linked condition--according to RR Goljan (FA says AD condition---so I dont know) is due to the kidney not being responsive to PTH...in this condition you have NORMAL to increased PTH and hypocalcemia. I dont know of any other differences.🙄

thanks tastebuds..but as the lab findings are the same in both..is there any other d/f which can help to distinguish between the two..?i havent come across any..
