Can anyone tell me how many Qbank questions are there in pharm and path.

Thanks

My ball park guess is about 1800 between them.

Pharm (all systems + multisystem + general principles) = 289
Path (all systems + multisystem + general principles) = 645
Pathophys (all systems + multisystem + general principles) = 288

For Step 1 next year, is it recommneded to get the one year subscription now or wait it out and get the six months subscription? Would the questions be the same for each option?

I would recommend saving your money and going with USMLEWorld instead.

Question still stands.....6 months or 1 year subscription?

3 months. That's really more than enough time and the QBank IV they toss into the 6 month subscription is worthless. My advice still stands: save the extra money saved by going with the 3 month sub. to add USMLEWorld to your study plan.

Get usmleworld. I'm going to be really annoying in my posts because I keep stating that, but it's the best way to study.

I had qbank, did it all, and found it to be...not that helpful. It's good in a way because it helps you get over the frustration on being tested in minutiae that is not exam-worthy, but other than that I found the questions and interface to be less than helpful.

For $75 USMLEworld was the best value and use of my time, especially considering the fact that the interface was almost exactly like the one I encountered on the test. You'll be surprised by how having something that familiar can help you relax on test day...at least that was my experience.

Also, I do recommend kaplan's webprep lectures. I'm sure there are going to be those who disagree, but I think it's good to shake up your learning style a bit by having someone speak AT you rather than reading text and putting mental effort into your studies for 8-12 h a day. After studying for a few hours, it's nice to be able to sit back and just listen and look at some figures rather than arched over a desk...an effective way to cover those topics you most dread as well.

Good luck!

PS- Don't start studying 6mo + in advance for this test...the best use of your time is to learn your material in class first. If you don't...then you're not going to have a base of knowledge to fall back upon later.

3 months at most. I had it for 9 months, I began using it in April occasionally, and I finished it completely the day before I took the boards the first week of June.

Qbank is overrated and extremely detailed.
