I'm on the 11th test for math destroyer for my first time. The other tests I stopped timing myself bc it was taking me double the time to finish them b/c i wasn't skipping etc. Now I'm on the 11th test and I feel like throwing my laptop on the floor 🙁 (but won't bc this test has already made me broke and I love my laptop) BUT I HATE QR! I'm really discouraged at this point b/c of the timing for the questions and the difficulty from that... I don't know whether I should continue with the 12th test b/c math is my weakest section and I would like to have time to do each test again but don't know what to expect in terms of time and how I'll do 🙁

Any advice or hopeful thoughts would be appreciated. thx

don't stress... keep plugging away ... its the least important section on the DAT so don't worry too much... best way to get better at math is to keep doing problems

Stare at one of these things: +pissed+

Or maybe 5 of them: +pissed+ +pissed+ +pissed+ +pissed+ +pissed+

Hey honestly though, QR -really is- the least important section.

If you can get yourself to score a 18 or 19 (about 26-28/40 right), then you're good.

Try to also figure out what -type- of problems you are not good with and learn from the solutions. If it's more of a speed issue, then you just got to mark/skip and come back.

Remember, math destroyer is -as hard- as it gets.

You'll feel A LOT better once you go back to those tests you already did. You'll be amazed at how much easier they are. I felt the same way until I just decided to start over at Test 1 and I couldn't believe how much I taught myself.

I pretty much sucked at math destroyer--especially the complicated rate problems--and still pulled a 21. My advice would be to skip the problems you don't know how to do immediately and get through all the easier ones first. Also, once you've made it through all the DAT math problems first and have realized that you could answer more than you probably initially thought you could, your mind might relax a little bit. I was terrified about the math portion, but once I got going and realized I did actually know how to do a good deal of the problems, I wasn't quite so jittery.
In my opinion, tests 1-6 were the best representation of the actual test. Some of the stuff in the Destroyer is absolutely ridiculous and complete overkill. Also, I never timed myself doing any of the tests but didn't run into any major time problems on the test. Just keep a clear mind and don't spend too much time on any single problem. Good luck!

thanks for the reply every1. i feel better. tmr is another day. but the teat 12... should i do it? lol

ya all my other scores, except for rc, keep me feeling better but i don't want it to be the reason my avg is low and or have to take the test again!

This is exactly my situation! I did the whole book and never want to see it again but it's eerily beckoning me to do a few more tests again.

Math Destroyer on a laptop????
Any way just stick with it. Test 11 is a bit hard. Go over the problems you got wrong or those you don't understand. Redo tests 1-8 without timing yourself then do them again by timing yourself then do the remaining tests by timing yourself.
Let us know how it goes.
Good luck

lol no i was talking about how i felt while creating this thread. ya i'm going to do start my 2nd round today for the first time and i think i'll do it with time...

I felt as though Math Destroyer was not a worthy investment. I barely used it and got a 19, and I don't think my DAT was anything like it. It was more like qVault.

so i did test 2 and 3 and got 28 and 29/40 with time... not sure what to make of this. goal for qr was at least a 20 only b/c i want my aa to be high...
