I'm in the same boat, it's all ab speed. Like working the problems fast bc u only get one min a problem
I am also on the same boat. I can never finish QR questions on time and I have been studying from the Math destroyer book and doing dat achiever. I feel like QR might lower my AA. I've heard that QR on real DAT is exactly like QR on math destroyer.
I take mine July 7th. It's sad QR is the only section I'm worried about! It's so hard at the real test bc your like, ok lemme see my damn scores. Ended up with a 16 but I'll take it. If a school won't let me in makin 20+ on everything else then I don't wanna go there haha. When do you take your DAT?
Qr is kinda like crossfit. It doesn't matter how much weight u can lift (knowing how to do the difficult problems) all that matters is how many reps you can do in the alloyed time. (#problems in 45 min).
Probably the best analogy for QR ever. I can do heavy lifting (I've had a few semesters of calc), but these problems are different. You just have to be quick.Qr is kinda like crossfit. It doesn't matter how much weight u can lift (knowing how to do the difficult problems) all that matters is how many reps you can do in the alloyed time. (#problems in 45 min).
I don't have the math destroyer.
I am taking your word for it, I just bought it last night. You should get it
I just took the DAT yesterday and going into it I was not worried about QR, I have always been good at math and I've practiced and felt that I was good on time. But I was so tired by the time the QR section came up and I felt like I was going really slow. Most (80%) of my problems were longish word problems. By the time that I had about 20 minutes left I was on problem #15 and I knew I was not going to be able to finish on time! I ended up scoring a 17 in this section but I skipped the more lengthy problems, tried to answer the easier ones first and in the end had to guess on the last 5 because I had about a minute left!
So it is all about timing in my opinion, and staying alert after the reading section!
Yeah I have also heard that DAT QR had tons of word problems. So do you suggest me skipping and marking the word problems and putting a random answer, and then answering the easier short problems first? Then going back to answer the word problems? This is probably going to be my strategy. I take the DAT in about a week.
