hello everyone,
I am not bright when it comes to math. Last math class i took was in high school. i was wondering if someone could help me with this following question.

Q- The weight of Sockeye Salmon is normally distributed with an average weight of 22lbs and a standard deviation of 3lbs. what is the probability than a freshly caught sockeye salmon has a weight of 25lbs or greater?
A. 25%
B. 16%
C. 5%
D. 2.5%
E 8%
ans is B--> 16%

thank you for your time!

You have to memorize the standard deviation values for this questions 68 % fall within 3 pounds on each side of the mean since they are asking for greater than 25 its 100-68 = 32 then divide by 2 to get 16 % because you are only on the high side of the mean.

thanks for replying. i havent taken any statistics course in my life...to understand this problem what would you recommend me to do?

Can't be sure but Means, median,mode, Standard Deviation can show up as well as some fellow test takers have gotten 1-2 p-value questions as well.
