QR please help

The five tires that come with Mary's new car were rotated frequently so that each tire was used to exactly the same amount of time as the others. They were replaced when the odometer read 24,000 miles. How many miles had each been driven?

A. 18,000 mi
B. 30,000 mi
C. 20,000 mi
D. 24,000 mi
E. 19,200 mi

Can someone explain this for me? Thanks.

This is my guess

24,000 miles per each tire = 24,000 * 4 = 96,000 but it is split between (divided by) 5 = 19,200 miles

Is this right..this took me at least 2 min, not good for the DAT QR!!!

(24,000 / 5) * 4 = 19,200 (Answer choice E)
