Hi All,

Many who have recently taken the DAT have struggled in the QR section. I understand that time is a constraint, given the number of word problems that have been appearing in this section lately, but is there anything else that has made this section particularly challenging?

Knowing what you know now, how would you have prepared differently for this section? Would you have emphasized pre-calc more than SAT math, or some other subject area? I'm not taking this exam for months, but I want to make sure I take the right approach when it comes time to prepare. Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

to be honest with you nothing else could I have done nor do I think I should have done . I got AA:20 TS:21 PAT:22 GC:22 OC:21 RC:21 QR:16 while I was taking the QR section i only skipped 3-4 questions and I thought i was getting a 20-21 for sure , Have no Idea what happened. The math seemed not hard, maybe a little lenghty but that's it, I thought maybe there is a glitch in the system, but who knows. so it's not that it is too hard it's either the timing or some trick problems thant U have to concentrate more in order to get it right.

The key may be screwed up... but I doubt it. I, like everyone else, felt the math wasn't too hard as I was taking it, but ended up getting a 17. On practices QR was the only thing I would consistently get over 20's on. I have got A's in every math/statistics course I have taken. Maybe there is a problem in the key, but my guess is that the questions are really tricky and you need to read through them thoroughly to truly understand what the question is asking. Just my .02
