In the QR section of the Kaplan book, they go through a lot on triangles, and other shapes. Do we need to know things like the ratio of sides of a 30-60-90 triangle, area of trapezoid and things of that nature. Thanks!

I would try to know it. And if it comes to calculating areas of trapezoids, hexagons, etc...knowing formulas of rectangles, squares, and triangles might get you by in that respect. That's if your goal is to minimize memorization.
Yes you need to MEMORIZE & understand the triangle things... Yes you can do it w/o memorization. But it might take a minute or 2 longer to do that problem... where if you just remember couple of numbers it will be done less than 30 sec. so you can spend the rest of the time on other problems... Remember 40 problems 45 mins... so you should try to do problems as fast as you can...
