How will the schools know that you have volunteered at hospitals or other events? What would be your prove? Thanks in advance!

I am getting the sense that your post isn't so innocent, but I'll answer anyway.

They won't know. Until your interview. Then they will ask you about it. And we can tell when someone is a fibber.

So true. Someone who puts down that they've done 300 hours of hospital volunteering better have something meaningful to say.

I had a question regarding this matter too...not if people can recognize you as a fibber or no...but basically when questioning do you tend to get into the technical stuff that happens in hospital pharmacies (how would you dispense controlled meds to a patient...wht is the Pyxis machine etc.) ? Or is it going to be more of a general ethical question as well??

You know, I look at it like this: For the most part, adcoms have already vetted the applications; everyone who gets called for an interview is basically qualified for admission. The adcom's job is to find out who is less qualified and who is more qualified.

Someone who knowingly provides false information, especially something that's easily verifiable like volunteer experience or grades, is only making the job of the adcom easier, and is essentially donating money to the school in the form of application fees.

In a way, it's kind of a noble thing to do, this lying/fibbing/fabricating stuff. ;-)

I ASKED THIS QUESTION BECAUSE I WANTED TO GAIN MORE PHARMACY EXPERIENCE BUT I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED HOW WOULD THEY KNOW!! I WILL NEVER BE DISHONEST, thank you just needed to get that off my chest.

Being for real now, I really wanted to gain more pharmacy experience but I wanted the pharmacy to know that they have prove instead of just saying you did 1,000 hours of community service, that was my question, maybe I should of stated it more clearly. Guys are so mean...

Yeah, I agree that people are quick on forums to jump to conclusions or to tell others to use the search function. I think people should try to be more helpful...

Sorry you weren't able to get a response you were looking for. Hmmm I think it would have helped if you clarified a bit more. Otherwise it is open to many interpretations, coming from any direction. This is a free forum and people will post their opinions - keeping in mind we all may have a different way of interpreting and answering a question.

But to answer your question, I think if you spent time doing something that is time-worthy valuable to your quest in gaining pharmacy experience, you will have something meaningful to say. Or, at least, if not meaningul, you have much to talk about, say, during an interview - to tell about what you were doing with the however many hours you did.

Yeah I understand people have opinions but why does the opinion have to be a negative one! Give me the benefit of the doubt but thanks for answering my question. IF anyone has more opinions let me know and please give me a postive one because most people on this forum is serious about going to pharmacy school.
