okay so everyone talks about how much harder the PCATS math is then collins ect.

compare it on scale of 1-10 on collins,
and i have heard that it is more of a test taking strategy portion, then an actual meticulous subsection, making educated guesses of things and ect.

for people who did well on it, how many questions do you think your RAW score was out of 48 make a guess i know they don't give it to you, but based on how you felt please tell what you think you got out of 48!!

Its hard to explain because everyone thinks that the PCAT quant section is a lot harder, but the score they get is within the Pearson practice test range. It might just be harder because youre so stressed out and the short amount of time to finish all of the questions only adds to your crazy stress level. But for me it was a section that tested whether or not you could create a strategy to do well on the quant section , because there is no way you can answer all of those questions in the time given.

IMO I had some pretty tough derivative questions. They all required chain rule, product rule, quotient rule etc etc. At worst, I took probably 3 minutes on a single problem because quotient rule came up with a huge mess of numbers.

Personally, I think the difficulty got bumped up a little bit. Since it applies to everyone, everyone would score less than expected, but the percentile rank would stay consistent because that is dependent on the median. For example, if you're 1 SD above a median score of 30/40, it would probably give you the same percentile rank as if you're 1 SD above a median score of 20/40.

Then again, I am basing a heavy assumption that the difficulty increase affects everyone in the same exact fashion and that percentile rank is scaled in terms of how far away you're from the median.

nvm i don't know why people said math was hard LOL
everyone on this site trips people out, i didn't run out of time! i did good on quant,
reading screwed me for the chance at 99% though **** readings the hardest thing on the PCAT

I agree with the reading. That thing was so hard... But you might be one of the few that don't have difficulty with the Quant. For the majority of us, time is such an issue. You only have a little more than a minute for each question and some of them require extensive computations...

the math was hard!! but i think everyone did worse so the estimated scores from the pearson practice tests held true. ill tell you think much, i could only answer 2 calc questions the rest were random guesses. luckily the things i knew how to do i nailed for sure. ended up with a 85!
