Hi all, I am taking my DAT in a week and my only real concern is the QR section. The math itself is not a problem, but I always seem to run out of time and have to just fill in random answers for the last 5 to 8 questions, which really hurts my score. I have taken the Kaplan class, but it didnt really help, and all my practice scores in Kaplan for QR are 15 or 16. Any advice on time management?

practice, practice, practice. practice your timing. that's the only way to get around this section. pace yourself so you can finish the section, with a few mins in the end to check back on harder problems.

also, know the easy problems cold, like "how old would Joe be in 10 years, if Jack is 7 years less than twice the age of Joe" questions. easy points.

find little tricks that make it faster to solve the problem w/o having to do the whole thing. recognize those patterns. kaplan has good tips on this.

work on the timing, that's the key to doing well in this section.

realize ahead of time which ones will take you too long to do, and skip them. There are usually a couple near the end that are easy points, so don't spend three minutes working out sin (x-273) / cos (3y +52) = x - tan 👍, what is y =?

even if you know how to interconvert well, if you know it takes you a couple minutes to do, skip and come back to it, just make sure you make your decisions quickly, within a couple seconds.
