Yep, I did apply at TCOM.... but really late in the cycle. I wasn't complete until late October. I just got their nice rejection letter a day or two ago. 🙁

I think that applying late really hurt my chances of going to a state school.

Oh man! Sorry that you didn't get an instate love. My husband and I are actually not applying to TCOM (it's a long story) so we know we'll only be living here for another 1.5 years at the most. I actually told my husband I would ask you what are some good, lesser known places to eat around here. Any suggestions for good Chinese? Well I wish you luck with the rest of your schools. Who knows, you could receive all those interview invites at once!

Well.. I got a little love.. I did interview at UT-H and am waiting for the match. I figure its a 50/50 chance there. One interviewer told me he thought I'd make a great doctor, while the other drilled me incessantly and wanted to know how my husband and kids were going to handle my being in med school. (Not that I mind answering... it was just the way it was asked.)
Ugg!

i've been complete at all of these schools since november and still haven't heard anything, so you guys are definitely not alone! here's hoping that they still have spots left by the time our app gets considered...even though that may be wishful thinking.

Stupid question, but what is a pre-interview hold and is it different than being told your under review for the past 3 months like me? Is that when the school will not review your file until you complete something such as a class?

Pre-interview hold is when they send you a letter/email like this:

"Due to the large volume of competitive applications this year, we have placed your file in "Hold" status. Though you are not invited to interview at this time, you are still under consideration for a possible interview later in the application cycle.

Status Review: The Admissions Committee will review your file again in the coming months. At that time, you will either be invited for an interview, remain in "Hold" status, or your application will be denied."​

To be honest, I do think some schools have an unofficial pre-interview hold (I am thinking maybe CCOM and UNECOM because I've never seen anyone actually get a "hold" notice) but if I am mistaken some one please correct me!

UNECOM sends you an email (if I remember correctly) once you are complete but then nothing again until you are either rejected or chosen for an interview. Of course, they send you those emails with their newsletter teasing you about their school.

momgracea, have you called UNECOM's admissions office to see where you're at? As for not hearing since 12/14... that was right before we had a week of exams and everyone was pretty busy that time. They did gear back up last week or so, and I know there are several meetings coming up SOON by admissions committees and whatnot. Give 'em a call and see what's up. Can't hurt.

Thanks for the advice and letting me know about the possible reasons for a delay. I'll give them a call and see what I can find out. Certainly doesn't hurt to ask!

I am on hold to DMU and CCOM as well and just havent heard anything from KCUMB or UNE other than that my app is complete (called them 2 weeks ago after the holiday break), I have an up coming interrview at NSU-COM on Feb. 13, which I was invited to back in Nov, so I am hoping that goes well cause I am beginning to think I am SOL at the others.

CCOM does have an officail pre interview hold letter they send out. Call and speak with an admissions counselor (not the secretary), they really are very helpful.
PS people do get off of this and go on to be accepted.

i submitted my secondary on 9/30 and was complete mid october. They did tell me that since I didn't have biochemistry, it might hurt me, although I told them I'd be taking that this semester, which I am. But oh well. I guess it was just not the school for me 🙁
