When aliquots of a gas reaction can be taken out with a syringe and analyzed via Gas Chromatography.
But because the reaction can continue in the syringe, they are quenched upon removal??

Can anyone tell me what this means?
My friend said that it means to complete the reaction, but that wouldn't make any sense as that is exactly the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish...

Oh, nvm

It probably means react it with a compound that will not allow the reaction to proceed?? (bond to the reactants?)
