What are the benefits of doing this? Why do people submit to only one school just to get verified? If you were to submit to OTHER schools after verification how long would that take than?

Does it work like this: You submit primary through amcomas (takes 4 weeks to verify), then after that it gets submitted to the school you chose (couple of days)?

Is this because some people dont feel like they wont do well on the MCAT, so they are waiting on their scores? to wait and see if they should apply this year?

This is a way that some people feel will get their app verified faster. Since verification takes a few weeks sometimes, people will quickly fill out their app and only select one school while continuing to refine the ECs and PS, etc. Then they add the rest of the schools when their app is totally done.

In theory, this could save you some time. In my opinion, pretty convoluted way to procrastinate...just give yourself some concentrated time (even if you have to loose some sleep) and get your app fully completed before you submit it. Its less to worry about, not having to make sure you updated each section before it was re-sent out to your new schools, etc.

Try it if you want, but I never saw too much merit in the practice

I think it's to get your app in asap (without worrying about what schools you're applying to).
