At my undergrad university they make you take the one year of biology backwards! I'm take my first semester of one yr of Bio and we are learning about plants & evolution etc. In the 2nd semester we will be learning about the cell, animal & plant cell, etc. Is this done at every school? Or is it just my ******ed school? lol

My brother's school (University of Maryland, College Park) did that.. we use the same textbook but he did everything backward.

My school had the same sequence: Evolution and Ecology, then Mol Cell Dev, then Physiology (quarter system)

1. Who cares
2. Thats how we did it also

Maybe because plants/evolution are easier since they are more familiar to us...cellular structure/genetics being more complex and geared toward the 2nd semester Freshman who probably wouldn't learn it as well amidst the novelty of the first semester? Just a guess.
