How long do schools give you to put down a deposit reserving your spot if you are accepted? I couldn't seem to find any info about this anywhere. Does it vary with different schools?

Just curious because I've had 4 pre-Dec interviews and I have another one Dec. 6th. For hypothetical reasons, say I get offered an acceptance on December 2nd, but still have a post Dec interview scheduled. Would I still be able to attend that interview, or would it be a waste of time/money because what if that school doesn't tell me if I'm accepted/waitlisted in time, and then I lose my acceptance because I never put down a deposit at the school I was accepted to? But then again...I could find out I was rejected to every school on December 2nd and so obviously it would be a smart decision to attend the post Dec interview.

Is anyone else in this situation? Not really sure what to do. Thanks.

You'll have about a month give or take a couple days to pay the deposit for a December 2nd acceptance at most schools. If you get in later in the cycle like January or February you'll have less time and progressively less and less time is given as it gets closer to the end of the cycle.

e) Applicant Response Periods. Allow an applicant who has been given a
provisional or final acceptance between December 1 and January 31, the
minimum response period shall be thirty days, and for applicants accepted on
or after February 1, the minimum response period may be reduced to fifteen
days. The response period may be lifted after May 15, or two weeks before
the beginning of the academic year, whichever comes first.

f) Applicants holding positions at multiple institutions. Dental schools
participating in AADSAS will report to AADSAS by April 1, the names and
identification numbers of candidates who have paid a deposit and/or hold a
position in their entering class. After April 5, AADSAS will report to each
institution the names of candidates in their entering class who are holding acceptance(s) at additional institutions. Dental schools will have the option of
rescinding an offer of admission to candidates who have paid deposits and
are holding positions at multiple institutions. Dental schools with candidates
holding multiple positions on April 1of the year of admission will give such
candidates a minimum 15-day notice if they choose to withdraw them from
the entering class.

Does anyone know if our fall grades matter if we get accepted on dec 2? I was told once we pay a deposit were pretty much locked it. A med student told me that

I think they can rescind your acceptance at any point if they want to. I'm a little worried about Fall grades as well bc I dropped a class and so I don't really want to do the academic update haha.

I think as long as the class you dropped is not a prerequisite, you are fine. I also dropped a few classes after submitting my app...

I believe schools will only rescind an acceptance if you FAIL a class/prereq OR you fail the background check.
