If I want to add another school or two to my list, I know that I have to resubmit and recertify my AMCAS app. How will this affect my application to the schools it has already been transmitted to and the schools it has not yet been transmitted to (so far 5/15 have completed transmission)? Should I wait until my app has been transmitted to all of the schools before adding another? Or is the processing time not as long as when I originally submitted my app, making it okay to just go ahead and resubmit now? (i.e. would I be losing ground with the schools already on the list and ready for transmission if I were to resubmit for the sake of the additional school(s) right now?) Thanks!

adding schools to your list does not change your status as processed at all- so it won't affect anything else-
it just goes through the computer system and does not have to be verified by an amcas rep.
I have done it myself after I was already processed, so you can hold me to it 🙂

Thank you so much Biff! Good luck to you!

you are correct, $30 for each additional school

just to verify -

was it only an additional $30 for each school that you later added to your application?

As an aside, you want to be real careful about which schools you are adding to your list. I ended up adding a bunch of schools en mass and mistakenly put one down I didn't want. AMCAS was not only unhelpful, but downright rude about fixing this. Needless to say, you can't really change after you've hit the submit button. You're just out 30 bucks...
