I know I may be jumping the gun, but this has been bothering me lately.

About a month ago I got a job being an EKG tech, since the dean of the medical school I want to go to told me patient interaction is key when it comes to EC's. Well to sum it up, I ended up having to quit because of the hours (too many overnights). Couldnt handle it taking 17 hours with labs (First semester junior). In total I only ended up having about 35 or so hours logged.

Now the question is whether or not when I apply next year if I should even mention this on amcas.

My MCAT and gpa are above par, but my ECs are lackluster (hospital volunteer, fraternity, AED....thats about it)

During the month I did work I did get lots of experience, but I know having a job for a month looks pretty crappy.

Would you mention it? I feel as though my time for EC's is getting shorter.

You'll have to list it under your employment anyway, so it's going to be in there. Besides... what if you "omitted" it, and someone who knew you had been in the program noticed the discrepancy? Best to be honest. Your reasons for discontinuing sounded reasonable to me.

Best of luck.

ttt

AMCAS asks for all previous employers?

i was wondering the same thing. it was a few years ago, but all i remember was you could list like up to 10 things (ECs, jobs, awards, publications, etc.).

yeah. i think the specific title of the section is "experience."
