Hi all,

Sorry for posting on the Pre-Dental page as a pre-med. My girlfriend is looking to beef up her application for dental school. Currently, she works as a dental assistant for two different practices but was looking to see if she could do just one. Would it be better to have experience from two different dentists in terms of the their technique as well as the atmosphere in the office, or is working for two different practitioners overkill? Thanks for your time guys.

Probably doesn't matter if she works at multiple offices. Any clinical experience is great. However, shadowing multiple offices/specialties might be beneficial. If she wants to just keep it to one office, I don't see anything wrong with that.

She has about 240 hours of shadowing at pediatric dentist but is on the fence about just working at two general dental offices. Thank you everyone for your advice!

Its better to volunteer at different clinics. This is because in dentistry, the foundation may be the same but each dentist approaches problems differently. She will see that the offices are most probably run completely differently with their own unique atmosphere.
