question about application timeline/MCAT

I was looking at the admission information on aacpm.org and they have a listing of "last MCAT date" for each school. Some of the schools have the 5/31/08 date listed. Is this for the Fall 2008 cycle or the Fall 2009 cycle? I'm not taking Organic 2 until summer and planned to take the MCAT late summer. Will this be a problem? I'm applying for Fall 2009 entry.

Also, when would you take the MCAT. How necessary is it to complete Organic 2 in its entirety? Could I plan an MCAT mid-summer and self-study the rest of the material? Thanks for the help.

im pretty sure thats for fall '08 admission. i would schedule the mcat to either be near the end of orgo2 or after.

I think you'll be fine for the Fall '09 addmission cycle....
and yeah, I agree...I'd take the MCAT after orgo2...

Ya, that date is for the 08 cycle. I took the mcat in september of 07 and applied for the 08 cycle and it turned out fine.

There's really not that much Orgo 2 on the exam actually and I would take it earlier...but why don't you compare organic topics on the MCAT and see how many you learn in orgo 2 vs orgo 1...
Im studyin for the MCAT right now and am writing for it in April....I postponed orgo 2 for the summer because I wanted to focus on the MCAT....look it up yourself if you don't believe me though!

I think what little orgo 2 there is left on the MCAT you can learn on your own...I would apply as early as possible for the fall of 2008 to ensure a seat...

I just took the MCAT last weekend with no Orgo 2...as long as you take a prep class, you'll be fine. Mine was pretty heavy on Orgo 1 and 2, but I'm not too worried about that part of the test.

haha. i was actually think along these same lines with waiting for orgo 2 over the summer. i'm not sure it will make THAT much of a difference. 🙄
